Lily stood still but the wind was blowing making her dark wings blow back and forth in the breeze meaning there was no way she could hide them from who ever was in the woods but she could speak to them. "who are you in there? Why are you watching me?" she called out in a voice that sounded a lot more powerful than she felt ,the shape made no sound but stepped forwards and lily caught the outline of a bears paws and she stepped back promptly fell in to the sand tunnel and landed beside her friend as the shape stepped forwards in to the sunlight

*why are we going to the mainland again?*

*Isn't the mage supposed to be there?*

Espri turned to see her friend land beside her with a painful sounding whump. She closed the small space between them, lying her tiger half down next to the fallen girl. "Are you okay?" She asked. The girl looked unusually pale, even in the dim light. She glanced up toward the tunnle entrance. "What happened? Is something up there? Is somebody looking for you or something?" She stood and offered a hand to her friend to help her off the ground.

*if I remember rightly, he's on the water isles in the higher grounds that lead to mountains. If we have no reason to go over now then I can use my twist to keep us here and get us going to the hills to find him...sound alright to you?*

Lily twisted away from her friend and looked down to the end of the tunnel and her eyes widened in fear as she spotted more shadowy changling shapes, "get back up, quickly!" she hissed as she turned to find mind and bent over to pick her up in her arms. She didn't want to fight these shadow Changlings and she didn't want to see how it was up there but she would rather take one bad guy than take on a group of them

Espri saw the panic in her friend's eyes, and immedialty stood on her hind legs, growing conciderably taller. She quickly clawed her way back up onto the beach. Breathing heavy from hauling her heavy body upward, she clutched her chest, which still hurt from the smoke earlier in the day. She stood, coughing once more, and saw what had scared the bird-girl below- A dark figure, hiding in the brush. "What's going on here?" She mumbled to herself, waiting for Lily to emerge.

Lily folded her wings in close to her chest and wrapped them around herself and minx and she turned her head to look down the end of the tunnel as the shadows of bear men came running towards them. She watched her friend climb out of the sand hole above her and then once her friend was free she turned her head and then she bent down and sprang up and she threw minx out of the hole in one move, her hands clawed in to the sand and she pulled herself up and out of the sand as it filtered in to her eyes

Espri started to slowly back away from the forest edge, more toward the ocean itself. She then turned to see Minx pop out of the sand, and reached out to grab her. If Minx was up, Lily wansn't far behind. She set the little couger down just short of the lapping water and instructed her to stay. She then ran over to the tunnle entrance once more to help her friend up. She heald one hand out for her friend to grab, and reached into her pack with the other, serching for her knife.

Lily felt her grip on the sand slip and she waved her free hand in the air until she caught a hand, hoping it was her friend's she pulled on it and shot out from the sand tinsel as she felt someone or something grab at her feathers from below her. She shook her head as soon as she left the sand and looked around to try and spot the figure from before, she saw only a shadow walking away in to the trees and of course minx and espiri beside her. So she shook her head again sending more sand everywhere before whistling to minx and forcing herself up and on to her knees before nodding her head ,"we need to go now" she said in a quick breath

Espri nodded, agreeing that they had to move. She rose from the sand, feeling strong and powerful. Brushing the sand from her flank with one hand and adjusting her pack with the other, she asked "But where do we go?" Now facing Lily "And who was that?" Her tail flicked in confusion. So many strange things had happened since she met this girl. Would they have happened if she'd stayed on her own? Was her new friend bad luck? Or was it just her? She lifted Minx from the ground, scratching the small cat behind the ears. Such a strange two days.

Lily shook her head as her freind spoke ,"I don't know but the ones in the tunnel were some of these stolen children, they clearly have all of the ways off the island monitored and guarded so we can't leave, but nether can the mage" she said as she started to walk over the sand ,"meaning they have to be in the mountains, so that's our best place and plan to go" she said as she lifted her head to look at the mountains that loomed in the distance

Espri simultaneously cracked her neck and knuckles. "Well then, lets do this." She watched the mountians, a wild grin on her face. She was doing something, she was helping. Before she met this girl, she felt totally uselss. Now she had a purpous. She lifted Minx from the ground. "My turn to take her, by the way." She winked at her friend. "Can't keep her all to yourself." She started walking toward the mountians, planning to start running once Lily took to the air. "Onward!" She called, excitedly.

Lily grinned to her friend before resting her hands on her hips and raising an eyebrow ,"who pulled her out of a burning fire? Who carried her away from said fire?" she said with a smirk before she dropped her hands and bent down before springing up and shooting away in to the air and wheeling round to look down at her friend and her cat again ,"coming?" she asked with a laugh as she beat her wings down and shot forwards over the trees leaving the beach behind her for a moment but her eyes raking the forest floor for a sign of her friend running along belong her

Espri laughed and bolted in the same direction as her friend. She ran at full speed, her paws pounding the earth, her rough soles and claws creating excellent traction on the soft soil. Her short, snow white hair flew out behind her, rising and falling, twisting and twirling with the wind. Her tail trailed in the same fashion. The little cat in her arms seemed to be enjoying herself, with her face turned toward the oncoming breeze, curled happily on Espri's thin, cupped forearms. She knew it'd be awhile before the cub could run along side her, but eventually she would be able to. She made sure to keep one eye turned on the large bird that was Lily above, and continued happily toward the growing peaks.

Lily soon spotted smoke as she flew towards rhe dark grey peaks of the mountains and she knew that she could cover distance faster that her friend if she chose to but she was content to fly at her current speed for now and just look around at the landscape. Or had been. As soon as she could just about make out the bottom of the plume of smoke far in the distance, a rain of arrows and throwing knives shot up towards her from a thick and dark area of woodland, and she was forced to twist in the air quickly and sharply. She then looked down and around for her friend and hoped she hadn't been hurt, missing totally the arrow that stuck in to the bone of her wing tip
