The people of the Water Isles are dissapearing. The children are being stolen away by an evil mage, their sould being combined with those of predators, forcing them to join his growing army. Its up to two kids, halflings themselves, to save them all. I started the thread, you can post first  |

*i was lily right*
lily sat on the top branch of the oak tree and smiled to herself. She could see the grass below her and the gleam of the suns rays coming off the little stream that ran below and beside the tree she was in. She raisted one hand and then ran it through her hair and then brushed her fingers over her dark wings and then flinched as she caught the sound of foot falls, her hand flew to her belt and she pulled out a long line of willow bark that she thread over her wings and then pulled tight and hissed in slight pain as her wings were pulled close to her body. She then tied the bark tight round her chest and turned back and reached up to a branch behind her where her pack was hanging and reached into it and tugged out her jerkin and then leaned back so she sat better on her own branch again

Espri walked silently through the strange woods. He four tiger paws emitted almost no sound as she padded over the soft ground. She felt so out-of-place here, her bright whiteness sticking out like a blackbird in a pond of swans. She looked around cautiously, hoping despratly that no one could see her. She heard a ruslting in a tree not far off, her pinkish eyes darting in the sound's direction. Probably just a bird, she thought. She continued walking slowly onward.

Lily looked down from her tree and sighed as she saw just a small deer walk past down below her ,she reached up and tugged at the willow bark round her wings and chest and tucked it into a small pouch on her belt and then tugged at her pack and it fell the the ground below her and she leaned forwards and let herself drop forwards and fall through the leaves and branches of the old massive oak and felt the wind rush over her limbs and through her wings as the ground rushed up to meet her and as her hair whipped around her face

Espri saw something leap from the tree. "Spirits!" She muttered under her breath. "A person!" She darted as quickly and quietly as she could into the cover the brush. It didn't do much to hide her massive, white tiger body, but it was better than being out in the open. She absoulutly could NOT be seen, not by anybody. She watched the person fall to the ground. There was something not quite right about the sillouet of the person. The arms seemed... Off. Who was this person, or what were they?

Lily felt the air thin as she neared the ground and she flexed her wings once and then beated them hard and felt herself being pulled back and then dropped lightly to the ground on her feet and let her wings relax into place again. She looked around for her pack and spotted it fallen beside a bush and walked over to it slowly and then paused, there were tracks in the ground here that were too big to be a hunter from the island. They were human and what ever it was had moved to slowly to have been a prey animal, so what was it? And why had it hidden in he bushes if it was a hunter?

Espri sucked in a breath as the person started in her direction. Based on the outline of the person against the Sun behind them, they appeared to be a yound girl, possible around her own age. She watched them approach, and tried pushing herself furthur back into the undergrowth. It's no use! She thought. They'll see me and run! They'll tell other people, and I'll be treated like some evil spirit again! She pushed herself as far back into the brush as she could, then hoped for the best.

*a girl with red hair and massive black wings is walking at you....no response from that?....it's what I was banking on relying to*
Lily walked forwards slowly and felt the wind brush through her wings and paused and then folded her wings in close to her so they werent on show to just anyone who happened to walk past her. She reached it and pushed away at the bushes blocking the hunter away from her and then paused as she heard a gasp and someone moving ,she drew back and then looked into the shadows ,"who's there?" she called out into the bushes

The girl finally came into view clearly. And what Espri saw astonished her- A girl, about her age, with bright firey hair and the wings of a bird. She stifeld a gasp and tried backing away. But it was no use, the girl already knew she was there. Defeted, she stood revealing herself and her half-tiger body from the waist down. "He-Hello."

Lily paused as the other girl stood up and she could see why she'd been hiding. She had the lower legs of a White tiger ,lily felt her face light up and she held out a hand and then smiled ,"I'm lily, I was a raven clan member but now I'm a member of the forest tribe" she said excitedly and then flicked her wings out beside her and nodded back to them ,"I'm also a crow, what about you? How are you getting through?" she asked

Espri shyly shook the girl's hand. "I'm by myself," she replied. "Most people are scared of me, so I hide and keep to myself." She walked out of the brush. "Not only am I diffrent from humans, I'm diffrent from other halflings, too." She looked down at her four white paws and whispered, "I'm not normal, even for just a halfling..." She paused and looked at the girl. "S-sorry. Did that answer your question?" She asked, sheepish.

Lily smiled down at the other half human girl and nodded ,"thats good by me, you've explained enough" she said and then tilted her head to a side ,"so what are you doing here? Why did you pick the island of water?" she asked, lily came here all the time as she had a freind in the water tribe that she had promises to see every few moons and she'd just finished the vist for the next three, she was due to be going back to the forest but she wanted to stay out a sea for a little while longer

"I need to keep moving." Espri replied. "The clans fear me, so if I stay in one place too long they start to act strange. Like they want to... hunt me." She paused and looked at the girl. "I'm a wanderer, but I don't mind. I get to see the whole forest and beyond." She smiled. "It's lonely, but its really fun, too!" She reached behind her and brushed some leaves of her tiger-half's flank. "What about you?"

Lily tilted her head to one side and nodded, "I'm exactly the same, I was planning on going back to the forest now to see my tribe anyways, would you like to join me?" she asked and smirked at the other girl ,"I can get supplies from the human camps if I enter at night and say im a trader ,I'll just give them some antler in exchange for what ever we need" she said and then she walked over to a tall oak tree and leaned up against it ,"coming?" she asked with a friendly smile

Espri thought on the girls offer for a moment. Other halflings? She hadn't been near another halfling in ages. Usually even they avoided her and her strange whiteness. But would these people accept her? Could theu accept her? It was a difficult choice. She was growing tired of traveling alone. "Hmmm," she wondered. "You know what? It's worth a shot. I'd be happy to join you!" She smiled widely at the girl. Realizing she'd never told the girl her name, she quickly added, "I'm Espri, by the way."
