The Teirrands have been home to humans and the Changlings alike for many generations now and little has happened before. The Changlings lived in secret communities along side the humans and the humans never knew they were there. But recently small children have been taken in the dead of night from their homes in the human camps and changed in to half humans and left on the mountains to survive alone. Changling children are stolen from their homes in the half human tribes and killed so their souls may be used in magecraft to create powerful Demon's. Those lucky enough to look human such as the children of the elements and Natura filli have not been so hard hit by these evils but they have had their losses too as they share the changling blood. But who is doing all this? And why now?
They call themselves the Shadow Hunters. They are lead by a group of 10 evil and twisted mages who feel they have been wronged by the human or simply want to control the Teirrands for themselves. The hunters themselves are only men who were stolen as young boys from their homes in the human clans and raised and trained to kill, they never learnt of mercy or compassion but of blood and pain. They are the ones stealing the children for their masters and killing all those of stand against them, those who find out about them ether must join them or die, but it's getting worse. Humans and changlings alike don't know of the hunters existence for they have never been seen, so they blame each other with the lose of their young. A war is soon to spark between the humans and the Changlings with the shadow hunters still working and doing their evil deeds behind it all. But people are hearing stories of the hunters and seeking them out, people are joining the hunters from both sides fearing only by their side will they be safe or only by their side will they get the revenge they seek.
So where will you stand? By the side of the humans and Changlings who fight each other for their lost children? By the shadow hunters who still perform their evils? Or will you run, hide, not take part, explore the Tierrlands and pass the conflict when you see it? Or will you stand with those against the war, those who know the other side are not to blame, who have seen the hunters as they leave, who are against the war and seek the hunters to save their families and friends? Only one group can win this coming war, and with danger everywhere, not even magecraft will be enough to save everyone.
