Hi, I'm new here and I have an idea...
What if you took the Japanese word Hanyou (which means half-breed or half-blood) and use that for a species? You could make the Hanyous a sub-species or something from the half-humans. Hanyous would have different animal characteristics.
Like...instead of having the bottom half of an animal, how about thay just have the ears, tail, claws and/or wings of that animal? A bird Hanyou would have the wings and possibly the tail feathers...a cat Hanyou would have the ears, tail, claws and sharp teeth...a snake Hanyou would have the fangs and tail...
Wacha think?

I've been considering this for a while, humans who have animal tails and ears. The half humans who are bird crossed do already have wings so that's not an issue and I think that sharpened teeth/nails/claws could happen to anyone, even the humans if they tried to get them but I can see your point. people wanting angels can be half humans and people wanting sharp teeth and claws it can simply have been grown out by the said person, eg my charrie lily has wings and clawed feet and hands as she's a crow half human and she grew her nails out to help her climb and hide. but I agree on this idea, we need a reason to explain it now ,eg half humans have animal souls in them to to give them their form, why would these people/creatures have their form?
Got any idea on that front?

Well, in Japanese culture, demons are creatures with the ability to transform into 'demon forms' (i.e. phoenix, wolves with wings or horns, pegusus, griffons) and they have powers and stuff...and if a demon mates with a human, their child is a Hanyou or 'half-breed'.
My idea is that Hanyous have branched off into their own species and maybe the demons like...dies off or something? Just a thought, but yeah. Oh, and Hanyous would have the ability to turn into a demon form as well (which is basically an animal form but giant sized).

We could make it a generation thing using that logic, the child of a changling and half human or changling and changlings could give a Hanyou, but we'll need breeding odds :

HH-Hu = 60% changling - 30% human - 10% Hanyou
HH-HH = 80% changling - 10% Hanyou - 10% human
C-Hu = 40% Hanyou - 60% human
C-C = 20% changling - 35% Hanyou - 45% human
Hu-Hu = 100% human (no matter the generations before them)
CoE-HH = 70% changling - 20% Hanyou - 10% Natura filli
CoE-C = 20% Hanyou - 20% Natura filli - 60% human
CoE-Hu = 20% Natura filli - 80% human
NF-HH = 70% changling - 20% Hanyou - 10% human
NF-C = 60% Hanyou - 30% human
NF-CoE = 25% Hanyou - 75% human
CoE-CoE = 50% Natura filli - 50% human
NF-NF = 20% Hanyou - 80% human

So the Hanyou would be like Anthro anime characters? That'd be so cute!! And adding the demony twist to it would ba amazing!! ;D

I have to disagree with the demon idea, that is just too far off from a soul being added to a body and then 1/2/3 generations down that would be too diluted to do that, even the half humans can't to that so I'm sorry to be a drag but ears/tails/paws allowed ,no demon powers or massive changes. We have no total animals/animal changes here

Yes i have now, but we'll need you to come up with a history and explanation for it, seeing as you know the most here at the moment. Just write a bit about how they are born and what happens, (born with ears/tail? Grown it in the first years of life? ECT) and a little about them, the same as the other types. Then me or another mod will check it and then lock and stick it up  |

What about humanoid animals with elemental sort of powers? You know animals that have human anatomy but still have animalistic instincts and features and would have ability to control elements like fire, water, lightning, etc.

That's more of crossing children of the elements and changlings, seeing as changling tend to act a little pro animal, I'd say that's a type we'd have to turn down as it would be a cross of two all ready set creatures
