Have you ever been so hungry that even cardboard would be oh-my-God-fantastic? When your stomach knots and twists on itself and growls and complains and it wont shut-up-until-you-feed-it kinda deal?
That was how I felt.
The last mule deer that I'd tried to hunt down had high-tailed it and ran. I didn't exactly let it go, either. I mean, c'mon. I was tired. And thirsty. Right now, I wish I had killed that baby deer; morals shoved to all hell and I don't give a cr*p. I was hungry! "Oh, well, nothing I can do now." I sighed and inwardly cursed my stupidity.
Yeah, that happens sometimes. A lot of the time.
