It was cold....the wind stung and ripped at Rina's clothes as she trekked up the side of the mountain, but she ignored it. Snow crunched underfoot, and her sensitive wolf ears atop her head swivled at each small sound. The wind howled again and she flattened them back back against her skull to keep out the noise. Slowing her pace, she stood at the edge of the sheer cliff and looked down. Everything below seemed so far away and tiny.
With a sigh, the wolf girl turned and kept walking. She needed to find some kind of shelter. The smell of brittle cold indicated that a blizzard was around the corner. It smelled different from the normal coldness that had settled around her. Her stomach growled. "There's nothing to hunt up here..." she thought bitterly, ignoring the pang in her side.
Finally, she spotted something that would be suitable for a shelter until the storm passed. The rock from one side of the cliff wall jutted out into an overhang. Even better was that one side had crumbled, creating a sort of three-walled cave. Perfect. As the wind began to howl once more, Rina made her way up to the rocks. As she sat on the frozen ground inside, she slipped her bag off of her shoulder, sighing at the prospect of rest.
"I can't go to sleep." she mumbled, knowing very well that if she did, it could be her end. The cold would freeze her heart if she fell asleep, so she needed to stay awake. If only she could light a fire, but she had no matches, nor any dry wood. With another sigh, she flipped open her pack and pulled out a big, wollen blanket. Wrapping up in it, she inwardly reminded herself not to go to sleep. Her eyes drifted closed and she shook herself awake. "Stay awake!" she thought.
Her warnings to herself were in vain as she drifted again...

Lily sat a top the mountain ridge and smiled as the wind cut through her feathers, her long red hair was blowing away from her face and her wings were beating gently against her back as she looked down the grey rocks to the foot hills.
She watched a figure walk up the edge of the mountain and duck into the out crop that she normally used herself in worse winds than these but of course, blizzards and gales didn't worry her. She pushed off with her legs and dropped down the mountain side and gave a low laugh as she fell down and watched the rocks and snow rush past her and then she beat her wings down once and levelled up only a little away from where she had last seen the other person and touched down on the snow coated path

Faintly, in the back of her mind, Rina heard the beating of wings. At first, she ignored it. There couldn't be any birds in this weather. Then, she realized that the wingbeats were louder and not so small-birdlike. She sat up and looked around, blinking away the haze from her eyes. Well, at least she was awake again....
"Hello?" Rina got up on her hands and knees-it was to low to stand up here-and peered around the edge of the crumbled wall. The wind blasted againt her face, but she gritted her teeth and was detrmined to see who was out there.
It was a girl. A girl with wings. Someone who was human...yet not human, like she was. It'd been a while since she'd seen anyone not human, let alone had a conversation with someone like her. "Isn't it hard to fly with this wind?" the wolf girl asked over the howling gusts, making herself known. Her eyes were curious and she waved a hand, motioning for the girl to get into the shelter with her. "C'mon so you don't freeze!" she called.

Lily had barely touched down on the ground when a voice reached her ears and dispite the wind and weather and everythig she smiled and laughed and then looked through the snow a spotted the girl waving to her. Lily nodded to herself and then reached her arms outdated and then brought them close to her body and her wings pressed up against her back tightly and she started too move towards the cave.
It was a lot harder to move on the ground as the wind beat against her and tried to through her off the cliff side and she ended up flicking her wings out to steady herself, she had grown up with storms and using her wings to counter the wind so she didn't find flying in gales an issue but she did find walking in them both a lit harder and annoying so would normally take off andgo some where else but she wanted to know why there was someone else here on the mountain beside her

The girl was having just as much trouble as Rina herself would have walking through the gusts of wind like that. With a half-amused smile, Rina reached out once she was in close range and snagged her wrist, pulling her lightly into the cave and helping her inside and away from the cold, harsh winds.
"I saw that you had no problem at all when it came to flying in this weather, but when it comes to walking in it..." she trailed off as she giggled. It was slightly amusing to her and she couldn't help but laugh.

Lily felt a tug on her arm and suddenly the wind dropped and pain shot through the top of her wings, she reached her arms out like she had before and then pulled them in the same and her wings followed her and tucked themselves up on her back and she looked at the other girl ,"flying is easy, walking is harder as you can't move around the wind and find the best bit to ride" she said with a smirk and then tilted her head to one side, "so who and what are you? Your not human or I'd be dead or really hurt right now" she said with another grin

"Yes, I can understand that for someone who flies all the time." Rina smiled. She looked up as the girl asked what she was and who she was. "Oh! Sorry...hehe, I'm Rina Ukario. You can just call me Rin." she smiled brightly. She flicked her tail into view and said, "I'm a Hanyou."
"I'm gonna guess and say you're a Changling or something like that?" she asked, pulling the wolly, black blanket back over her shoulders. She took another, smaller blanket from her bag and offered it to the girl. "And whats your name?"

Lily looked at the other girl for a moment and then nodded her head slightly and took the blanket she held out to her and flung it over her back and felt her wings twitch with contact but that was just normal. "my name is lily ,just lily" she said honestly as she stepped inside the over hanging cave and then dropped down against the cold stone wall ,"I'm a half human, half crow to be totally honest with you, some of my friends call me the black angel" she said and then sniggered and rolled her eyes at the memories of her time with the water tribe and Farn

Rina smiled. "I think Black Angel would be a cool name to have. They picked a good one." she laughed lightly. "Well me...I myself am half wolf, but I'm not a Changling as you can see." she gestured to herself, a small grin on her lips.
She sat back against the wall and looked over at Lilly. "So, why are you all the way out here in such weather? I was trying to cross this mountain when I got caught in it." she shrugged.

Lily tilted her head to one side and then smiled and pointed to the sky above them ,"flying with out wind is fun yea sure, but flying with wing around you is fun, flying in a gale is just dammed brillaint" she said with a huge smirk and then dipped her hands behind her and fliddled around trying to find her willow bark. Her fingers snagged on it and she tugged on it and the bark fell away from around her chest and she smiled as her wings flicked out slightly from her back and she bent over to pick up her bark from the stoney floor

*my idea was currently we sleep out the snow storm and then wake up and find ourselves in a snowy waste-land, so we pack up and move down the mountain side but come across paw/foot prints of a strange beastie and so we track it and then my ideas ran dy so I was counting on you help me out after that point*

grrr, stupid word count is keeping count that makes me annoyed that is being stupid that keeps counting that I keep typing stuff that is nonesens that probably means nothibing that will lead up to me getting very annoyed so that I have to keep on typing until I reach the pint that lets me hit the post button!!!! YAY!! ;D

Lily picked up her willow bark and then tucked it in to her belt and then looked around the cave. It clearly went back a long while and she was not one to go in to small spaces, she had it down to the fact that she could fly anywhere she wants when ever she wanted pretty much and she was always free but being in a small spaces meant she couldnt open her wings and that made her feel trapped and she hated feeling trapped. She had lived a whole childhood of being trapped and she was not about to go and repeat that feeling

Rina had packed away the blankets and looked out into the glistening snow-covered land. "Well, it's alright to travel now." she said, seeing that the harsh blizzard winds were over. She turned and slung her bag over her shoulder and smiled at Lilly. "Let's get going shall we?" she grinned. "I need to cross the mountain and I see that you look like you'd really wanna streatch your wings, am I right?" she chuckled, stepping out and liking the sound the snow made underfoot. It crunched and was crisp and glittered under the bright sun.
