"Then don't think of it as relying on me. You're just borrowing my help." He chuckles softly, keeping a hold of her so that she could continue to stand. He knee did look bad though, swelled and starting to bruise.
"If you stay off it instead of forcing it, I bet it will go down pretty quickly." He offers, glancing over at the bird. She seems to listen to him, despite everything, perhaps Rune could back him up. "And surprisingly, I have ice where I stay. That would help even more, if you're willing."

Rune twittered and landed on Ruka's shoulder, fluttering as if to agree. She sighed. "Yeah, sure. Rune seems to like the idea." she shrugged, keeping an arm around his shoulders so she wouldn't fall. She looked down at her knee. "Well, it's not that bad...not like the last time I was hurt. That was worse." she said matter-of-factly.
--
Rune listened to his masters words and squawked loudly. "Yes, and there was no one around to help. Took her three weeks to get back on her feet, stubborn girl!!" he said to Vincent, nodding his head.

"I don't doubt that. But that's the goal, to keep the pain down as much as possible." He smiles briefly, then scans the area for a moment to assess where they were.
'Don't go spilling all of her secrets now, Rune.' He chirps at the other, amusement in his face.
"There is a village to the west, but it is mostly of humans..." He trails off, unsure of what her thoughts would be of humans. "Or my camp in the opposite direction. Which would you prefer?"

Rune twittered again. "Well, that really was not a secret." he shot back, taking to the air as Ruka shifted into a straighter standing position. He heard him ask if she wanted to head for the human camps or to his...Rune already knew his masters answer to such a question. He himself disiked the humans for their cruelty to her.
--
"Not the human camps!" Ruka said quickly, eyes darting up to look at him almost fearfully. Her eyes widened slighty when she realized the fear in her voice and she looked away. When she spoke again, her tone was even...more controlled. "Lets go to yours. It won't end well if I went to a human camp."

He figured that might be the case. Pulling his attention away from the bird, he looks at the girl. "It's no problem to go to mine." He reassures her quickly, giving the girl a reassuring squeeze of her shoulder. "It was just an option, but I can understand why."
It's his own reason why he hides his abilities whenever he goes into it, humans were an easily scared bunch with a mob mentality, something he had seen before.
"It would be easier if I flew us there." He offered to her, and also a way to keep her off of that leg of hers. He enjoyed the flight as well, it felt as natural to Vincent as breathing was.

Ruka nodded, not trusting her voice at the moment, and kept her eyes averted. The humans were the reason for her lack of trust in the first place. She hated them, even though she really didn't want to hate them. It was against her nature to hate someone or something...or anything for that matter.
--
"We better get going before the sun sets." Rune said as he flew in a circle around them. "Traveling in the dark in the DESERT is very dangerous."

He picks up the quiet girl once more, the same way he had before before nodding to Rune. "Just follow me." He said to the bird, the wind picking up once more, kicking sand up a little before Vincent takes off, heading in the direction of where his camp is, high in the air. After all, few thought to look upwards while traveling.

"Woah..." Ruka looked down, her eyes wide and awed. "Do you do this often?" she asked, amazed. This was so cool, they were actually flying! Rune sqwuaked and flew beside them, seemingly joyful and she giggled at the blue egret. He twittered at her, as if laughing as well.

"I do. It's... relaxing!" He tells her with a laugh, shifting a little so that he could go faster. As a Natura Filli of the wind, once he had stopped living like a human and letting things take it's course, he had been much happier. Coming up ahead seems to be a rock facing, his camp tucked away in one of the caves nearby. The wind whips past them, cooling them even in the desert heat.
"I don't think I could live without it."

"It's so amazing." she smiled. She looked up at the sky and then behind them. "Uhm...we better hurry. A sandstorm is on its way." she told him, urgency in her voice. She hadn't sensed it until now, and she inwardly berated herself for being so slow to realize it.
