"A full moon in the sky. An eagle races by...a lone wolf howls up to the moon his lonely lullaby."
A soft, clear voice echoed through the trees that swayed around the crystal blue lagoon. A Hanyou girl with long, raven hair sat along the shoreline, legs in the water as she sang.
"He races through the trees. Dancing on the breeze...no matter how far he may go, or how long he is gone...the lone wolf returns to his hill to sing his lonely song."
Her voice rose and fell with the wind, a slow, haunting melody that sounded like chimes. She sighed once she'd finished singing and looked up at the sky. Dawn was slowly breaking over the horizon and the sky had been streaked with red, orange, yellow, purple and pink.
There was nothing she was planning on doing today. It was time for a rest, and she decided that today she was going to laze about and do nothing in particular. Maybe she would go swimming later...with a soft smile, she closed her eyes and lifted her face to rising sun, beginning a new song for the morning and a new day.

*Hope you dont mind me joining. If you'd rather do it with someone else since im still new to this just say so but i'll try to do my best. =)*
Vales ears twitched in his sleep and he lifted his head with a yawn. He looked up at the sky and groaned. "Awwwww. Its not even my normal waking time. Can't a boy sleep till midday without any disturbances." He rubbed a paw across one of his eyes, trying to get himself awake, and slid down the tree he'd been sleeping in. As he touched the ground his ears twitched again and he heard the singing. He titled his head to the side to listen and gave a confused expression. "Hm? Who would be singing so early in the morning?" He thought about it. "Hmmm...might as well go check it out." He started off running then slowed down to a stealthy creep and finally a belly crawl as he got closer and closer to the singing. He stopped on a small hill and peeked the top of his head up, looking for the source of the singing. He saw it was coming from another Hanyou. He let out an amused purr and his tail waved playfully behind him. He wondered what this girl was like and if she'd be any fun to meet.

Another sigh escaped Rina as she let her song fade. She settled back on the grass and stared up at the sky. Well, if she wasn't going to do anything today, it probably would be a little boring. She grumbled as she realized this. The wind shifted and she caught the scent of someone else in the trees. She sat up, golden eyes darting around as a low, catious rumble rose up in her throat, wolf ears going back against her skull. "Who's there?" she demanded, expression wary.

Vale not sat with his arms and upper body exposed on the ridge but still laying down. Resting his head in his hand, his tail waving behind him, he purred amusedly. "Awwww. Your not scared of little ole me are yah." He waved lazily with one paw then sat up in a cross legged position, scratching behind his ear with one paw.

Rina blinked, her snarl fading. She stood up, her own tail flicking behind her. "No, but I have reason to be catious." she replied, eyes curious. "You're a Hanyou as well, I see." she said, tilting her head to the side.

Vale smiled childishly and said "Yup! Im Vale. Wanderer, mischief maker, and lover of sweets." He used his tail to reach into his pack and pulled out a juicy red apple with his tail wrapped around it. Grabbing it in one hand, he then started munching on it. 'Mhmm. Mph. Want one? Mph. I have a few more and some other kinds in my pack."
*The little mph sounds are him chewing. Didn't know what that would sound like when typed. ^^"*

Flicking her tail, Rina stepped closer, golden eyes curious as she watched him reach into his pack. "I'm Rina, but am called Rin." she replied, eyes brightening at the apple in his hand as he pulled it out from the bag. "Don't happen to have a green one, do ya?" she asked, still hesitent to get closer as she remained a few feet away.

"Mph. Nice to meet yah." He shoved the rest of the apple into his mouth, his unusually sharp teeth easily tearing apart even the middle, and swallowed it. He thought about it and said "Hang on lemme see." He moved his pack to his lap and after a little rumaging pulled out a green apple equally perfect to the red one he'd just been eating. He threw it up in the air and caught it with his tail. "If you want it you have to come get it though."

Rina scowled slightly and hesitated. She looked at the cat Hanyou, Vale, searching his eyes. He didn't seem like a threat. His cheerfulness wasn't fake or put on as an act. She flicked her tail and stepped closer until she was right next to him, then sat beside him and held out her hand for the apple, her expression unreadable.

Vale smiled cheerfully and his tail gently laid the apple in her hand. He'd notciced her looking him over and seeing if he could be a threat to her. He suddenly laid down on his back, his arms crossed behind his head, and looked up at the clouds. "You know I saw you looking at me, seeing how much of a threat I could be. Its bad when we start to question our own species huh?" He smiled sadly. "I blame the humans personally. They cause a lot of the hate in other beings like us." He sighed peacefully and was isntantly his cheerful self again. "But I prefer not to dwell on such things long. Its a beautifull day, the suns out, and if my nose is correct then there are fish in that water. With a bound he hopped off the ridge on all for and ran towards the water but stopped at the edge. He didn't particurly like getting wet for no reason. Crouching down he flicked the claws out on one paw and waited, paw held above his head, after about 10 seconds it went down in a flash and came up with a fish stuck on the claws. Its was about the size of his paw so he just swallowed whole. He called to Rin "You want one?"

"Yeah...the humans here are...mean." she replied softly, staring at the apple in her hand. She was surprised when he jumped up and ran over to the water and caught a fish. His words from before he got up made her smile and she bit into the apple, her sharp canines easily slicing through the fruit. "Nah, I'm good." she replied, smiling. "Remember, I'm a wolf Hanyou, you're a cat."

Vale pretended to take offense. "Wolves eat fish. I've seen it before. But fine. Would you prefer a mouse?" He said the last part teasingly and walked over, sitting back down with a yawn. He started to say something then stopped, overcome with giggling. "Hehehe. That tickles." He looked down at his stomach and sure enough it was moving slightly. "Oh dang. I thought that fish was dead." He tried to keep a straight face but could barely keep a wide grin with the fish still movng. "So, hehe, what are you doing way out here?"

She rolled her eyes and grinned. "Sure, some of them eat fish, but I don't." she replied, following him as he came and sat down again. "And no, I'd prefere a deer." she grinned. She laughed as well when he said he thought the fish had been dead. His next question made her shrug. "Nothing really." she said. "Taking a break from traveling to the Savannah where I last heard that my half-brother was there." she sighed and layed back on the grass as well. "Haven't heard anything on my twin sister..."

Vale grinned when she laughed and in a few minutes finally felt the fish stop. He listened to her talk and said "Awww. Lucky. I wish I had siblings. I dont have any family. My mom died when I was born and my dad abandoned me. Louzy huh?" He laughed and grabbed a rock, skipping it across the water.

"You don't seem to upset about it." she smiled slightly. "Well, if you've never had those kind of bonds, I guess it really wouldn't bother you." she looked out accross the water, smiling when he skipped a rock. She sighed and pulled her knees up to her chest and dropped her chin down, watching the rock skip and plop into the clear water.
