Abaddon's were created by the mages of the shadow hunter to be the ultimate hunter. They were made to send into camp and scare people so there would be no resistance agaist them but they lose control and the Abaddons broke free of their spells and magecraft and ran off into the forests. They have spread all over the Teirrands now and are a common sight at night and are feared by all aside some Changlings who it seems are immune to their powers as they don't have nightmares so the Abaddon's can't feed off them and grow more powerful
Abaddon's are made from the worst nightmares of people, manifested into reality. Their appearance is base on the nightmares that brought them into existence. They can choose part of that nightmare and model their appearance after it. They search for sleeping victims as night then make them have nightmares which they feed off of. if they find a waking victim they attempt to scare them as much as possible then feed off their fear. The more they feed the stronger they get and once they reach a certain level of strength they can even bring other nightmares into existence which they can control or let loose to wreak havoc. They are weaker during the day and this has lead tk people trying to hunt them down during sunlight hours. They also grow weak isthey don't feed of nightmares on a regular basis and can't do a thing with people who don't have nightmares, if kept from feeding for too long a time they can simply burst into dust and disappear.
